Maloofing With The Ladies

So Maloof Money Cup finals were on Sunday and you all know how that turned out. Meanwhile, http://etniesgirl.com/blog/2008/07/14/rachel-finished-2nd/ in from Colorado, Lorena from Jersey and Evelien from Belgium(!)... so we jumped at the chance to spend a little quality time with the outta towners. We spend the afternoon with the girls, both on and off the course, and I can assure you that as much as I enjoyed watching them skate... in triple digit heat with no breeze and no shade, it was even more fun to chill with them in the etnies Festival Village.
- Started off on the course for the girls' practice round... here's Rachel skating like she didn't just roll her ankle.
- Evelien didn't make it to the finals but couldn't resist the call of the course
- Rachel totally held it down and was the only girl to successfully take on the 16 stair
- And after the contest, she was stoked to sign a couple decks for her fans.

- and there were so many booths and so much going on... tons of stuff to win.

- But even with all the chaos around us, we spotted the best tents pretty quickly... etnies with the NEW MIKEY TAYLOR of course.

- Next we hit the pop up tattoo shop and solidified our etnies love.
- Fo' life! So solid.
- Time for food before we catch the men's finals
- Evelien's first ever bite of buffalo wings...
- Rough one... guess they don't make wings like that back home
- Trying to cool her mouth with pizza and soda
- By the time Evelien's mouth wasn't on fire, it was time to stake out a spot to watch the boys go at it.
- Thanks for hanging out, girls! Had a great time with you and I've got the tattoo to prove it.

Our girl Rachel Reinhard took 2nd at Maloof Money Cup this weekend! It was most likely her quiet consistency throughout the entire contest that wowed the judges... or maybe it was her skills on the 16 stair in the final round! In any case, she put on a great show for her fans and no one could tell she'd just rolled her ankle in pre-finals practice! Yep, she's just THAT rad.

Sheckler 4th @ Maloof Money Cup!

Congratulations to Ryan Sheckler for his 4th place finish at the Maloof Money Cup this weekend! Don't go thinking 4th is a load of crap either... Sheck was only 4th to some of the best... that's Cole, P-Rod, and Nyjah, who also all crushed it. But Sheck, despite a busted elbow and droves of ravenous young ladies and MTV camera crews swarming him, ripped hard. Just check the photos. Even the haters were givin' props. The kid threw down! Stay tuned for more photos and video soon!
PS. Rune Glifberg didn't place but skated hard as usual... and he's still #1 in the World Cup rankings, just so ya know! So here's a bonus Rune photo for good measure. Yeah Rune!
