Frequently Asked Questions

What is etnies Girl?
etnies Girl is an authentic action sports brand grounded in youth, fun, independence and the spirit of skateboarding. In 1999, stemming from etnies, the authentic skate footwear brand, etnies Girl began offering footwear and later expanded the line to include apparel and accessories with global appeal for the independent, creative and fun-spirited girl. etnies Girl also sponsors an accomplished team of athletes who personify the brand’s philosophy: Elissa Steamer, Lauren Perkins and Evelien Bouilliart in skate; Mary Osborne in surf; Leanne Pelosi, Janna Meyen and Alexis Waite in snow; Tarah Gieger and Sarah Whitmore in motocross; and Nina Buitrago and Stacey Mulligan in BMX.

Will you be giving away free stuff at the clinics?
Yes, we will be raffling off cool clothes and other items from etnies Girl, as well as products from other sponsors, to all participants.

How can I sign up for a clinic?
We strongly recommend that you RSVP for the clinic you would like to attend in order to secure yourself a spot. Once you RSVP, you will receive a confirmation e-mail. However, if you do not RSVP, you are more than welcome to attend the day of the event and see if there are any spaces still available.

Every participant will be required to sign a waiver at the event registration. If you are under 18 years of age and will not have a parent or legal guardian with you at the time of registration, then you must download the waiver form and have it notarized in order to participate in the clinic.

Am I too old to participate?
No way! Come one, come all! Some clinics may have an age cut off due to the particular sport, but if you are willing and up for the challenge, then we are ready and willing to help you accomplish it!

What if the weather is bad on the day of the clinic?
Not all events will be cancelled due to bad weather. If we must cancel an event we will credit back your payment or transfer your money to another Girls Get on Board clinic.

How much do the clinics cost?
Costs vary depending on the type of clinic you are attending. Please see the Dates & Locations page for specific information.

How early should I show up for my class?
We suggest arriving at least 30 minutes before your clinic starts to register.

Who are the instructors you use at your clinics?
We take great pride in the instructors who teach our classes. They are all talented women who have years of experience in their particular sport.

What is the normal ratio of attendees to instructor?
We strive to give females of all ages a wonderful experience at our clinics. One of the ways we ensure this is to make sure that instructors don’t have too many participants to teach. The normal ratio for each clinic is between six to eight attendees per instructor.

Is there a limit at how many girls are in each clinic?
Yes, we try not to have more than 40 girls at each clinic.

How long are the clinics?
Most clinics will be six hours long, with a small lunch provided. If clinics are shorter in length, it will be noted in the clinic details.
