Made Magazine Skatepark Preview
A project that started nearly three years ago, the etnies Skatepark of Lake Forest takes the raw elements of the street and puts them in an area where skaters can enjoy themselves without being constantly hassled by property owners, security guards and cops. At over 40,000 square feet, the park--one of the largest in the nation--features a real street course with naturally occurring street obstacles like benches, ledges, stairs, regulation height handrails and much more integrated into an authentic plaza-type set-up.
Including elements for everyone, the park also boasts two huge bowls: a nine-foot deep skull-shaped bowl with tile and real pool coping just like a backyard pool, as well as a combi-bowl with varying depths. The park also includes a huge elbow wall with a foot of vert, as well as several hips, pyramids and spines.

California Skateparks--the same skatepark construction team that has built amazing skateparks like Upland, Fontana and the YMCA Mission Valley--will be building the etnies Skatepark Of Lake Forest. California Skateparks has an excellent reputation for quality skatepark construction featuring perfectly smooth, no-kink concrete, and will be able to replicate the elements of real street and pool skating perfectly. The grand opening of the etnies Skatepark Of Lake Forest is scheduled for November, 2003. We'll see you there.
