How did you start surfing? My Dad and three older brothers all surfed and they taught me, everyone was surfing so I had to give it a go.
What is your proudest moment in surfing so far?
Winning the ASP World Junior Title, ISA World Junior Title in 2007 and 3rd at the US Open 2007
Who do you look up to? Inspiration? I look up to Mick Fanning and Steph Gilmore, their recent world title wins were very inspiring
Worst injury: I broke my nose. My front foot slipped off when I was doing a top turn and the board whacked me in the nose.
Close call: I was going down the track at Honolua Bay, when I was going for a surf and it had been raining heaps and I started sliding down this steep bit and grabbed a branch before stacking it pretty hard. Definitely a close call.
Favorite spot to surf: Breaks around Home and macaronis
Dream trip: I don’t know my dream trip because there’s too many amazing places to go but I’d like to go to Morocco and Mexico in the near future
What would you tell girls who are curious about learning to surf? Get out there give your best, never give up and live your dreams

I would support the protection of sea life and keeping the oceans and beaches clean.

My family and I recycle household waste and try not to leave lights on in empty rooms.
QUESTION FROM LAURA #1 – What’s the craziest thing that has happened to you on a surf trip?
I went on a boat trip in Indo last year and on the way home got a really bad stomach bug and they kicked me off the plane because I threw up whilst checking in and had to stay in Jakarta for an extra few days. It was pretty gnarly.
QUESTION FROM LAURA #2 – What is your routine before you go surf in the morning?
Before I go for a surf I have food of some sort and a bit of a stretch on the beach before going out.
QUESTION FROM LAURA #3 – How many times did you get lost when you came to California for the first time for the US Open last year? Did you like California?
I didn’t get lost too many times because Dad wouldn’t go anywhere except Huntington Beach. I think it was called the PCH, I can’t remember but it was just straight. I loved my first trip to California, I had a lot of fun and met some great people.
